SongStudio is thrilled to announce that top international songwriter Shelly Peiken will be a featured Guest Faculty at this year’s SongStudio Songwriting Workshop, taking place at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, from July 22 – 28, 2017.
Grammy-nominated songwriter Shelly Peiken has been a prolific, behind-the-scenes force in the music business for more than two decades. Her songs have sold in excess of 50 million records. She is best known for penning culturally resonant, female-empowerment anthems such as Christina Aguilera’s No. 1 hit, “What a Girl Wants” and Meredith Brooks’ smash, “Bitch.” She has also written hit songs for, and with a multitude of top selling artists, including Christina Aguilera, Meredith Brooks, Britney Spears, Natasha Bedingfield, Keith Urban, Celine Dion, Cher, Reba McEntire, NSYNC, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Aaliyah, Selena Gomez, Idina Menzel and Demi Lovato.
Shelly’s experiences, accomplishments and the circles in which she has traveled give her a unique perspective on the music business. She has also found success as an author, with her recently published book, Confessions Of A Serial Songwriter: a humorous pop culture memoir about her journey from a young girl falling under the spell of magical songs to working professional, writing hits of her own.
Shelly will be joining Blair, Bill, Allister……and other yet-to-be-announced faculty for the first 5 days of the workshop, including Saturday Speed Dating and special new Orientation activities, Faculty Concert, in-depth interview/intimate concert/Q&A with Blair Packham, and 4 mornings of classroom song mentoring.
