We have two $500 scholarships to give away, as a credit towards tuition at SongStudio 2019, and we would like to give one of them to you! If you're interested and think you qualify, answer these simple questions to help us get to know you and your music better.

  • This scholarship program is offered to songwriters who have never attended SongStudio or the Humber Summer Songwriting Workshop.
  • All applications received by 11:59pm EDT on April 30th, 2019 will be considered. Selected applicants will be contacted before May 15th, 2019, and will be expected to acknowledge acceptance of this scholarship by paying the non-refundable balance of their SongStudio registration within 48 hours of initial contact attempts from SongStudio staff. Any failure to respond to our attempts to contact you, or any failure to complete your registration as mentioned above, will result in the scholarship being offered to another applicant.
  • All applicants will be contacted by May 20th, 2019.
  • All information submitted will be kept private and confidential. Note, however, that by submitting an application, you grant SongStudio the right to use your name and/or likeness for the purpose of announcing the recipients of this scholarship.
  • Any delays or errors in administering this scholarship program due to circumstances beyond our control, including, but not limited to, technological disruptions, will be addressed at the sole discretion of SongStudio staff.
We encourage you to answer each question in as much detail as necessary for us to understand your answer. You are required to fill in your complete contact information, to allow us to respond to your application.

The following 3-part series of questions is not intended to intimidate, classify or judge you as a songwriter. We want to extend an invitation for all aspiring songwriters to apply to this program, regardless of experience or career achievement. The questions below are purely intended to make sure that you have made every effort to fully understand our program, and that we will have the greatest ability to award scholarships to exceptional and deserving applicants, based not only on professional merit, but also on passion in the pursuit of excellence, and on our impression of how much we can help you become a better songwriter.

Part 1 – Show Us What You Know About SongStudio

Part 2 – All About You

    Part 3 – A Letter of Support

As a measure of your awesome fit with the SongStudio workshop, and of how we might be able to help you develop your songwriting skills, please include a letter of support (with contact information) from one of the following:

  • Professional Songwriter
  • Music Publisher, Manager, Radio Broadcaster, etc.
  • Past participant of SongStudio or the Humber Summer Songwriting Workshop
  • Past guest or mentor at SongStudio or the Humber Summer Songwriting Workshop
  • Teacher of music or songwriting
  • This letter will be most helpful if it comes from someone whose reputation we recognize, and if it demonstrates that the referrer has a good understanding of what we do and how you will benefit.

If you do not have access to any of the above persons, you may include a personal letter (including contact information) from someone most familiar with your music, your progress as a songwriter, and your passion for pursuing a greater understanding of the craft of songwriting.
